As a small mid-western university, our partnerships began locally. Over time, it is with great pride that we've experienced them grow to the state, regional, and global level.
Collaborate with us. Rise with us. Succeed with us.
Bring the knowledge you’ve already learned on the job to Dakota State and receive credit! National Security Agency (NSA) employees (military and civilian) can transfer up to 56 National Cryptologic School (NCS) course credits to Dakota State’s bachelor’s degree in online cyber operations.
Dakota State entered into this partnership with the NSA in 2015. It was the first partnership between a public academic institution and NCS.
The program, offered online, enables NSA employees, particularly military personnel, the convenience of completing the degree from anywhere.
Additionally, military employees have already received extensive training to work at the NSA, and this partnership gives them a head start in earning a degree in the cyber field, Steve LaFountain, Dean of NCS College of Cyber at the NSA, shared in the announcement of this program in 2015.
Dakota State is the only South Dakota institution designated a Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in education and research by the NSA and Department of Homeland Security.
For more information regarding CAEs visit the NSA.
Whether you're interested in our undergraduate Cyber Operations program or the Master's in Computer Science, our articulation agreement with NCS can help you complete your education in less time, by applying what you already know.
